The basement is really coming along. Technically, it should have been completed last Thursday - but with our contract, it costs our contractor $100 a day for every day he is over the deadline (and since we had to get our air conditioner fixed this week, we don't mind the extra money too much). There have been several unforeseen delays - some with dealing with inspections and older house issues, but also with subcontractors. But there have also been many days when there is someone here for only a couple of hours. Painting and carpet were finished this week and the last major project (I think) is finishing the bathroom - and then all of the finishing touches after that. Above picture is of the family room - the cabinet below is for the TV components (the store room is behind that wall) and then we'll have bookcases on either side of the TV.
