Where We've Been

I lost my camera charger during the move and my camera is completely dead. Therefore, no posts have been written. Also, moving is a lot of work and we've been too busy to do anything else. I have ordered a new camera charger and I also took a couple of really cute pictures today with my cell phone, but pictures will have to wait for another day. Here is an update on what the boys are doing:

L never shuts his mouth from the time he gets up in the morning until after he goes to bed at night. I couldn't even count how many words he now knows and says, he must learn at least 20 new ones a day. His favorite thing is still to name what items belong to different people.

Greg and I took the boys to the pool on Saturday and I took R by himself on Tuesday and L by himself yesterday. L is completely fearless with the water. He does not seem to understand that once the water is higher than him, he can no longer breath. He would get as far as he could before we'd stop him, and then he'd say and sign "more wawa." R is easy at the pool. He is content to splash in the area that is safely for him. There is no way I can take them both to the pool by myself like I did last year. L is able to pull himself out of the pool and run to the deep end faster than I can keep up with him. I'm thrilled he loves the water, I loved swimming as a kid. The boys are also adorable in their little swim trunks (which almost go down to their ankles), their baseball hats and sunglasses. They are the most styling kids at the pool.

The boys have had their Nana here to help us move for the last few weeks. She left this morning and they cried and screamed all the way home from the airport. L is funny in that if he gets scolded by me, he says "Nana, Nana" as if she can save him from his mean mother. Thank you mom for helping us out, it made things a ton easier.

I will post pictures later. We're doing good and loving the house, especially the backyard. We put so much of our stuff in storage when we moved in January that I don't even know where to begin to unpack it all. Plus, I lived without it for a few months and don't really feel like digging it all out again. However, it will be nice to make this place our home, and our familiar items will definitely help that. Have a great week.

Happy Birthday!!!

The boys are now 2 years old!!! I can't believe how quickly time has gone with them. I think that I love each new stage that they are in. They were super sweet babies, but they are funny little toddlers now who provide us with constant entertainment. We had a birthday party for the boys at a local park last Friday with friends and family. R and L had a great time and never realized that the party was for them, they just thought that it was a cookout with lots of people and good food. We had a Sesame Street themed party complete with balloons, a Cookie Monster pinata, and Pin the Nose on Elmo. I made the boys cupcakes of several of the characters. Thank you to all who gave the boys such great birthday gifts. We got the boys a train set and others contributed to it by adding neat pieces. They also got lots of cool trucks to play with both inside and out. R and L got the best present of all on Saturday when they got their new house and huge backyard. Below are several pictures of the party. If I have chance, I'll post some more on Shutterfly.

The cupcakes that I made and decorated for the boys. I found these online and taught myself how to do cake decorating just so I could make these. They took several hours, but they were alot of fun.

How many people does it take to grill hotdogs and corn?

Happy Birthday, boys!!!

R loved his Cookie Monster cupcake.

L loved his Elmo cupcake, he wore it on his face and shirt.

We're in the middle of moving right now and things are a bit chaotic. The boys are doing pretty good adjusting to things, but we aren't sleeping at the new house yet. Greg, my mom and I have all been busy painting and moving things from one house to another. We are moving the furniture on Saturday and we still have a ton to do before then. I've barely packed anything and we have to finish the boys' room and Greg's office tomorrow. It will get done. The good thing is that we have until the end of June to clear the current house out and get it cleaned up.

On a different note, the boys had their 2 year check up today. L weighs 32 pounds and is 33 1/4 inches tall. R weighs 30.5 pounds and is 34 1/2 inches tall. Hopefully L will continue to slow down on his weight so his carseat will last until he is 4 years old and 40 pounds.

New things:

L said his first 3 word sentence yesterday: "More cookie, please."

R said his first real 2 word sentence today: "Up, please." He says Bye, Bye to whatever all of the time, but this was a little more than that.

R has also started throwing some major temper tantrums lately. He had a time out in the rug section of Linens and Things yesterday. He screamed the whole time until I asked him if he was done and would like to go and find Nana and Bro. He then stopped crying and was fine after that. We found out today that he is cutting 2 of his 2 year molars, which is probably contributing to his foul mood.

Here is our little Picasso. L drew a picture of a "baby" tonight. I think it looks like the little adopted Canadian brother on Southpark.

Below are videos of the boys. The first is of the boys eating their cupcakes. The second is of the boys getting into a fight. I was trying to get a video of L buckling his "baby" into his booster seat, but it quickly turned into a confrontation over the bus. R is so camera hungry that he let go of his possession of the bus and L took the chance to take it.

Choo-Choo

We took the boys last week to ride a real-life choo-choo train up in the mountains. It was about an hour long ride in an open air car. The weather couldn't have been better. The boys had a great time. L was a little overwhelmed when we first got on due to all of the people on board, but he had fun once we started moving. R must have said "choo-choo" at least a hundred times. Greg got the boys each a train before we left, and R managed to get both of them by the time we got on the train. Above is a picture that I took this morning, a rare chance to get both boys in the same picture looking happy. Below are pictures of their ride.

New things:

R and L are going to be 2 on Saturday!! Can you believe that? They are so much fun and they do something new and entertaining every day.

L assigns ownership to all objects. For example, "Daddy's car, Mama's shoes, Bro's jeans" etc. He even called my vacuum cleaner "Mama's Dusty." His toy vacuum is named Dusty so it was only logical that mine would be called that as well. L also saw a car at the train station that looked just like my dad's, and he called it "Grandad's car."

Both boys are now capable of telling me if their diaper is dirty. L can tell me that he needs to be changed by doing the sign for change (rolling his hands together). R grabs his bottom and says "Aah Dirty" They aren't always consistent, but it is the first step for potty-training.

Below are recent videos of the boys. The first one is of the boys in their beds. L and R were both jumping in bed like crazy before I got the camera, and they of course stopped soon after I came in with it. They had banana pudding for desert that night and were way hyper, but amazingly went to sleep pretty quickly. The second video is of the boys at lunch last week after the train ride. I was attempting to get R on video doing his usual "no" routine, but he didn't do it quite so much once I got the camera, but he was excited to say hi.
