Vacation: Part One

We survived our first real vacation with the boys. We've been traveling with them since they were about 4 months old, but this was the first trip where the destination was not family and we stayed in a hotel. The boys had a blast, and Greg and I did too, for the most part. We began on Saturday by driving up to Loveland to see the 4th of July concert and fireworks with Stephanie and her family. Luke loved the concert (he conducted and danced for most of it) and Ryan loved the fireworks. On Sunday, we drove to Glenwood Springs. We took the boys to a cave, which we had to ride a gondola up the mountain to see. Luke said when we walked into the cave, "I'm coming stalactites." On Monday, we went to the Hot Springs which was mine and Luke's favorite part of the trip. The water felt wonderful and the boys loved to swim with us. Luke and I were able to go down the slide a few times with him riding in my lap. He loved that and could have spent all day on the slide. Every time I got out, I asked Ryan if he wanted to slide and he very quickly and enthusiastically said, "no!" He enjoyed watching us, but was not interested in participating. After we spent a few hours swimming we drove to Durango by way of very pretty mountain scenery. We even stopped to let the boys throw rocks into the river. I have so many pictures to post that I'll wait to finish our trip for another post. In the meantime, enjoy a few pictures of our vacation.

At the 4th of July concert, waiting for the band to play and the fireworks to begin.

Dancing with Stephanie at the concert - Steph's dad is the tall guy playing the flute in the background.

Mr. Mills showing Ryan how his flute and piccolo play. Ryan was totally fascinated and he got to try and play it the next morning. Luke calls Mr. Mills the "Music Guy."

Luke in the cave.

Me and Ryan riding the gondola to the cave.

Ryan's first night in a hotel.

Luke's first night in a hotel.

Greg and his boys in the Hot Springs pool.

Ryan watching for me and Luke to come down the slide.

One of our several trips on the slide - Luke loved every second.

Lastly, a couple of videos. Sorry they are sideways, I can't fix it. The first one is of Luke and Ryan dancing at the concert. Stay tuned towards the end to watch Ryan dance-he is hilarious.

All 3 boys loved to throw rocks into the river.

I'll post the rest of our vacation later!
